Dr. Cristina Torres is a proud native of Peñuelas, Puerto Rico, and a passionate educator, visionary leader, and lifelong advocate for learning. With more than 30 years of experience in education, she has built an inspiring career serving in multiple roles from classroom teacher and school principal to curriculum leader, educational consultant, university professor, and strategic planner for school improvement at district and state levels. Her work reflects a deep commitment to transforming education through leadership, innovation, and meaningful change.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision along with Bilingual Education from the Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Puerto Rico. Her strong academic foundation has shaped her into a respected voice in education, dedicated to excellence in teaching, leadership, and institutional development.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Cristina Torres has always had a powerful connection to the written word. A writer since childhood and a natural storyteller, she brings depth and authenticity to everything she creates. Her experience as a qualitative and historical researcher has enriched her work with real-life perspectives and human experiences. Across her essays, poems, and short stories, she consistently explores themes of female leadership, women’s history, resistance, emotional freedom, and the beauty of feminine epiphanies.
